All About Big Fuddha
Congratulations! You finally went vegan and all is right with the world… now what? Honestly, I have no clue what is next for us newbie vegans. I don’t even know what’s for dinner tonight, but I promise we’ll get through this together.
What’s our mission? This will probably be the longest post I make, just to get us acquainted, so expect me to keep my posts short, sweet, and to the point. I want to enhance my vegan experience, and as many other’s as I can. It seems like all of the vegan knowledge is sprinkled across the entire Internet. We want to be your one stop shop for the best vegan recipes, articles, restaurants, events, products and more.
Being vegan doesn’t have to make you a social pariah. Keep up with all the latest events, groups, shopping and restaurants in you local area. These will be added as we personally discover and experience them ourselves.
(Unfortunately these social references will only be serving our East Coast vegans for now. As we grow we will be able to include more areas, so please stick around. Sign up for our newsletter to get updates on new locations we add.)
We also plan on keeping you up to date on recent news for our vegan community and discoveries made within the food industry.
The Green Fuddha is currently collecting the best recipes and products that we come across for you. We will never suggest any recipes, or products that we haven’t personally tried and given The Green Fuddha seal of approval, which is hard to obtain cause I’m pretty picky. Products will be available to purchase securely on our Fuddha’s Favorites platform.
We know that we are nowhere near the most experienced of vegans…yet, so we want to open up the discussions to get real advise, from real vegan pros, to the questions you all have. The topics are updated weekly so keep up with the chitchat by signing up for our newsletter!
The Green Fuddha isn’t just here for fun. We want to help you help others. Every month we will be representing a charity we love and tell you how you can get involved or donate. Soon we will begin giving a free monthly gift for the first 5 Fuddha fans that send us confirmation of their donation.
If you’ve stuck around for our whole spiel and are still interested in whom we really are, then cool beans! Lets get this ice broken. My fiancé and I run The Green Fuddha. We’re not big fans of exposing ourselves to the entire world so, for now, we will be known as Big Fuddha and Little Fuddha. We will both be posting to The Green Fuddha posts and discussions. Don’t worry, we will sign off on who wrote what, incase you end up having a favorite… wink, wink. Our styles and opinions may differ, but our goals are the same. That is to give you our most honest of opinions and findings during our own vegan journey to hopefully make yours a little smoother. We met in high school, and have been happily in love for over 8 years, with an upcoming wedding in May of 2017.
Why Big Fuddha Went Vegan
Everyone has his or her own personal reasons for switching to a vegan lifestyle. I grew up as a complete meat-eating fool, so it’s a pretty big change. Like a lot of meat eaters, I always cringed at the thought of the animals that suffered to put a plate in front of me every night. Chicken, burgers, cracking crabs, the entire process of it all made my heart sink, but I continued to go along with it, because it was what I wanted in the moment. Being a lover of science and believer in natural evolution, the label of carnivore, given to the human species in most opinions, started to confuse me. If we were meant to consume other animals, why do our teeth reflect those of herbivores instead of those of other predators? Where are our claws, and why am I not engulfed with cravings when I see a fluffy live chicken in a field? But yet again, my concerns were always sidelined when that late night McDonalds craving kicked in. I wont go into much detail about animal abuse, and the life they are forced to live leading up to the deaths they face, on this site…after this. I love animals and just hate even discussing it. So to sum it all up, my fiancé and I came across something no craving could make me ignore, or forget. That very night, I decided that I was completely done supporting cruelty with my money, and or body. The biggest blessing was that my fiancé was thinking the exact same thing. In conclusion, my personal vegan mission is not about what I put into my body (although the health benefits are a huge plus), but about the cruelty I want to do everything I can to stop and prevent. The first change I am able to make in world is myself. Hopefully my change will inspire others to do so as well one day.
SO LETS GET TO IT!
